As a first generation Greek American, Deno Seder has a special interest in Greek art, history and philosophy. While working with his wife, art director Anita Semjen, on a Holocaust-related exhibition at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem, he learned about the “Righteous Among the Nations” from Greece and was inspired to write Miracle at Zakynthos, The only Greek Jewish Community Saved in its Entirety from Annihilation. Miracle at Zakynthos has been optioned for development as a motion picture and 72 HOURS has won accolades at film festivals in thirteen countries. The book has been praised by the Chief Rabbi of Israel, the Patriarch of the Greek Orthodox Church, the Executive Directors of the ADL and the Simon Wiesenthal Foundation, and others. Seder has written three other books: Wild About Harry, a political biography featuring a foreword by President Bill Clinton; Gimme Shelter, about homelessness in America; and Dead Fish, Humor and Satire in Political Advertising. He has written and produced films and videos on art, politics, current affairs and issues of public interest. His work has been selected for screening at the Paris Art Film Biennale, Berlin Film Festival, New York and San Francisco International Film Festivals, Taipei Film Festival and others. He has won Gold Medals at the Chicago International Film Festival, Best of Show at the Houston WorldFest Film Festival, Clio, Telly and Addy Awards.
